Finch Feeders..... are those with seed in them. Although finches love thistle (nyjer), they also will eat most other seeds. A sure way to attract finches is with a thistle feeder. Thistle Feeders have a very small slit made for the beak of Finches. Most other birds beaks are too large to be able to feed at finch feeders. If squirrels are a problem, then a finch feeder with a cage is what you need and will allow the finches to eat in safety inside the cage. Finch feeders should be hung 4-6 feet off the ground and hung near a safe haven for the finches. Around coniferous trees are a great place to hang a finch feeder to give your finches a place of safety to hide between bites.
